Sharon Barnes

MS/HS Department Head, MS/HS Teacher

Sharon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Hyles Anderson College, located in Crown Point, Indiana. She came to DCA/LCHS in September of 2020, where she started as a middle school history and ELA teacher, and is currently serving as the Secondary Department Head in addition to teaching middle school history and ELA. Sharon began her teaching career at New England Baptist Academy in West Bridgewater, MA, where she taught a variety of grades, in addition to serving as the school and church secretary and elementary principal for five years. She also has nine years of experience serving as the senior sponsor for the graduating seniors each year. She and her husband, Rodney, ministered with the parent-run youth group in their church for many years. Before beginning her career in education, Sharon was employed as a regulatory specialist in the healthcare field for over eight years. Sharon and Rodney had the privilege of attending a Christian school for most of their lives, and also attended a Christian college where they met and fell in love. Their passion for Christian Education started at an early age and each of their three children also had the privilege of receiving their education in Christian schools, from kindergarten through grade 12. Sharon enjoys baking and reading, but her most favorite thing to do is to spend time with her family and friends.
